FAIRY CAVE & WIND CAVE

HIGHLIGHT

Fairy Cave and Wind Cave are two popular limestone caves located in the Bau district, approximately 40 kilometers from Kuching, the capital city of Sarawak, Malaysia. Both caves are known for their unique geological formations and are often visited by tourists interested in exploring the natural wonders of the region.

Fairy Cave:

The cave is named "Fairy Cave" due to the various stalactite and stalagmite formations that are said to resemble fairy-like figures. The cave chambers are illuminated, allowing visitors to appreciate the unique rock formations. The cave also holds cultural and religious significance for the local population, and there is a Chinese temple at the cave entrance.

Wind Cave:

The Wind Cave gets its name from the cool breeze that flows through its chambers. The cave is home to impressive rock formations and stalactites. It also has a river running through it, and boat rides are available for a unique cave experience. Wind Cave is known for its biodiversity, hosting various species of bats, swiftlets, and other cave-dwelling creatures. The cave is part of a nature reserve.
